Piper Showcases Product Line, with an Addition, ...
Piper Aircraft is in full force at the annual Sun 'n' Fun International Fly-In & Expo, to be held April 10 to 15 this year in Lakeland, Florida. It is bringing not just its flagship, the M600 turboprop single, but also its M350 piston-powered variant and both singles and twins from its trainer offerings.
The custom-painted M600 on display at the show is owned by Red Bull Air Race pilot Kirby Chambliss and will fly with Chambliss’s Edge 540 for part of his act during the daily Sun 'n' Fun airshow. The M600's stars and stripes paint scheme and interior are designed to match the Team Chambliss Edge 540. Piper's static display is located in the manufacturers' exhibit area (Booth MD-9-A).
Piper president and CEO Simon Caldecott talked about the importance of bringing practically the company’s whole product line to Sun 'n' Fun. "This venue allows Florida's general aviation businesses an opportunity to exhibit, and Piper, from Vero Beach, Florida, is pleased to be a part of this annual event."
Piper Aircraft’s agreement with Team Chambliss is set for the season, according to Piper spokeswoman Jackie Carlon. “Team Chambliss and Piper Aircraft intend to display [and do a little flying] both here at Sun 'n' Fun and further down the road at EAA AirVenture 2018, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, this coming July. Chambliss’s M600 looks great parked right next to the Edge 540—what a performance match,” she told AIN.
